Rouzer: America Must Stand Up for Freedom

WASHINGTON, DC - Today, with the support of Congressman David Rouzer (NC-07), the U.S. House of Representatives passed several measures to deliver critical aid to Israel, Taiwan, and Ukraine as they face threats and acts of aggression from our adversaries.  Congressman Rouzer also voted in support of measures to counter Iran, Russia, and China.

"China is growing more aggressive towards Taiwan with each passing day, Ukraine is running out of weapons against an unrelenting onslaught from Russia, and Iran just directly attacked our closest ally in the Middle East, Israel, for the first time ever," said Congressman Rouzer.  "We face the gravest challenges since World War II.  America must demonstrate we will stand firm with our allies and do what is necessary to enable freedom to survive.  Tyranny is on the march.  If our enemies prevail abroad, it will cost us far more here at home in money spent and lives lost.” 

H.R. 8034, the Israel Security Supplemental Appropriations Act:

  • Replenishes the Iron Dome and David’s Sling systems, critical resources proven to protect civilians.
  • Procures defensive weapons, artillery, and munitions.
  • Backs U.S. military operations responding to recent Iranian-backed terror attacks.
  • Restocks defense articles and services provided to Israel.

H.R. 8035, the Ukraine Security Supplemental Appropriations Act:

  • Requires cost-matching requirements from other U.S. allies and implements a repayment agreement from the government of Ukraine.
  • Provides weapons and lethal assistance to Ukraine to support their fight against Putin’s forcible invasion and attack of a sovereign nation.
  • Procures advanced weapons systems, defense articles, and defense services.
  • Strengthens transparency, monitoring, and oversight of all aid provided.

H.R. 8036, the Indo-Pacific Security Supplemental Appropriations Act:

  • Strengthens deterrence over China's growing military provocations around Taiwan.
  • Invests in submarine infrastructure, dry dock construction, and production of artillery and critical munitions.
  • Curbs the Chinese Communist Party’s strategy to acquire control over the Indo-Pacific region.
  • Enhances security cooperation with regional partners and supports U.S. military operations.

H.R. 8038, the 21st Century Peace Through Strength Act:

  • Sanctions ports, vessels, and refineries dealing in Iranian oil to stop Iran from exporting tens of billions of dollars of oil a year to China.
  • Sanctions anyone involved in buying, selling, or manufacturing Iran’s missiles and drones.
  • Forces the executive branch to fully implement sanctions on high-ranking Iranian officials.
  • Imposes sanctions on anyone supporting Hamas, Palestine Islamic Jihad, and other Palestinian terrorist groups.
  • Sanctions additional Russian oligarchs.
  • Imposes sanctions on Iranian and Chinese technology transfers benefiting UAV warfare in Ukraine.
  • Forces the sale of TikTok to 
  • Protects Americans’ data from China
  • Implements additional sanctions.
