North Carolina’s 7th Congressional District is fortunate to have some of the most beautiful beaches in the United States which drive significant job growth and economic activity for our local coastal communities.  We also count on our coastline as the first line of defense against powerful storms, and consistent beach re-nourishment projects are key to limiting the beach and structural damages these major storms would otherwise cause that would cost taxpayers much, much more on the backend.   

I am proud to be recognized as a Federal Champion by the American Flood Coalition for my record as a longtime advocate helping our communities in Southeastern North Carolina recover from major hurricanes and flooding.
