Here is today’s update, both on Tropical Storm Arthur and on the COVID-19 outbreak:
From the National Weather Service: Tropical Depression One has been upgraded to Tropical Storm Arthur, becoming the first named storm of the 2020 Atlantic hurricane season. Arthur is still expected to track well east of the area late tonight through early Monday.
Impacts:
High risk of rip currents for all area beaches today. Elevated rip current risk is expected to continue into Monday.
Small Craft Advisory is in effect for coastal waters today and tonight with seas 4 to 7 feet.
Rainfall is expected to be less than half an inch for coastal southeast NC Sunday night into Monday morning.

The Small Business Administration, in consultation with the Treasury Department, released the Paycheck Protection Program loan forgiveness application this past Friday. The form and instructions inform borrowers how to apply for forgiveness of their PPP loans. SBA will be issuing more guidance soon to further assist borrowers as they complete their loan forgiveness applications as well as to provide lenders with guidance on their responsibilities as well. The IRS has an updated webpage for individuals that have received their CARES Act stimulus payments but found that is was not the amount they were expecting to receive. It offers a number of reasons why your payment may not have been what you anticipated. View it here. More than 130 million Americans have received their CARES Act payments.
