Rep. Rouzer Announces Badges of Honor Event

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman David Rouzer (NC-07) today announced an opportunity for NC-07 veterans to obtain the military awards and medals they may have earned but never received during their military service.  Congressman Rouzer’s Badges of Honor event will take place on November 9, 2023, at the VFW Post 10630 in Hope Mills, North Carolina.

Obtaining military awards and medals for service is not always simple and automatic.  In many cases, veterans must apply to receive their medals, or to replace lost or damaged medals.  New awards are established, and existing ones are amended, which oftentimes makes the process daunting for veterans and their families.

"This Badges of Honor event will help NC-07 veterans, and their loved ones, complete the paperwork necessary to request or replace their hard-earned service medals," said Congressman Rouzer. "More can and should be done to improve the care and lives of our veterans, and this includes helping them receive the proper recognition they deserve for so nobly serving our country."

From 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Thursday, November 9, 2023, Congressman Rouzer's staff will be on hand at VFW Post 10630 located at 3226 Davis Street, Hope Mills, NC 28348 to assist veterans in completing the required paperwork to request service medals.  Those interested in requesting medals are encouraged to bring their DD214 or contact Lisa Littler in Congressman Rouzer's office to determine specific documentation needed.

In addition, children and spouses of veterans who seek to obtain the service medals of a loved one are also encouraged to attend the event.

Our office can only assist veterans and military families residing in North Carolina's Seventh Congressional District.  Click here to determine your United States Representative and contact their office if you would like the same assistance.

Due to limited space, those interested in participating should RSVP here.  For more information, please contact Congressman Rouzer's office by phone at (910) 500-4880.
