Great News on the Economic Front

It shows that the economic policies of the Trump Administration – low taxes, less regulation and red tape – have our economy poised to rebound from the coronavirus crisis at a record pace. This is wonderful news for all Americans.
There’s a lot to pack in to today’s update.
  • First, some great news on the economic front: our economy boomed in the third quarter, with a 33.1 percent annualized economic growth.  This is the largest single-quarter growth in history, but even saying that doesn’t do it justice.  It's roughly twice the record set in 1950.  It shows that the economic policies of the Trump Administration – low taxes, less regulation and red tape – have our economy poised to rebound from the coronavirus crisis at a record pace.  This is wonderful news for all Americans.
  • More great news: the FDA approved the first COVID-19 treatment this week, and a Phase III vaccine trial resumed after the FDA determined it was safe.  The drug Veklury, also known as Remdesivir, has been approved for use on pediatric and adult patients.  Meanwhile, because of Operation Warp Speed, the FDA is making great strides in developing a vaccine for COVID-19 in record time.  Don’t miss this op-ed by Health and Human Services Secretary Azar on how Operation Warp Speed is utilizing groundbreaking cooperation between the government and the private sector to develop and deliver hundreds of millions of doses of a safe, effective vaccine faster than ever before.  A safe, effective COVID-19 vaccine is what’s needed to bring life back to normal and fully get our economy going again.  This op-ed, by the FDA’s Dr. Peter Marks, explains how the FDA is going about making sure that we have a very safe vaccine before it receives approval and is administered to patients.
  • Also, with Election Day coming up next week, Republicans on the House Administration Committee launched an election administration timeline highlighting issues during the 2020 election cycle and a whistleblower webpage for election officials, poll watchers, and other concerned citizens to report any election fraud and abuse.  The committee worked with the House Office of the Whistleblower, which was created at the start of this Congress to help House offices effectively work with and protect whistleblowers, to create this webpage.
The timeline, which can be viewed here, provides an all encompassing look at how House Democrats - despite clear warnings - continue to pass legislation to federalize our elections and force states to expand mail-in voting in a timeframe that is impossible to implement correctly.  There are 68 separate instances included in the timeline that demonstrate their irresponsibility and politicization of this issue.
The whistleblower webpage, which is accessible here, will allow anyone who witnesses election-related problems to report them in real time.
