This past week, I hosted a healthcare roundtable to discuss policies that are advancing through the House to help make healthcare more affordable and accessible for families across Southeastern North Carolina. As part of the roundtable, I welcomed Health Subcommittee Chairman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) to Wilmington and visited Frontier Scientific Solutions, a local company that specializes in temperature-controlled logistics and storage of medicines and pharmaceuticals.
In news for our region: a grant has been awarded to Wilmington International Airport to support its aircraft apron expansion, I recognized the USS North Carolina ahead of its 65th “Berth-day” in Wilmington, and congratulated the Fayetteville Woodpeckers on winning the Carolina League championship.

Every American deserves affordable, high-quality healthcare built on competition, transparency, and choice.
This past week in Wilmington, I hosted Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA), Chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee's Health Subcommittee, to discuss how we can lower healthcare costs, increase price transparency, improve the quality of care, and expand access for patients across Southeastern North Carolina.
Following the roundtable, we visited Wilmington’s Frontier Scientific Solutions, a pharmaceutical logistics and temperature-controlled storage company. The Wilmington facility is the largest temperature-controlled medicine facility in North America, specializing in storing temperature-sensitive products such as advanced biologics, cell and gene therapies, and other critical materials.
With more than 150 biotech companies in the region, Southeastern North Carolina is becoming an increasingly important part of North Carolina’s biotech ecosystem. As a member of the Congressional Biotech Caucus and co-lead of the Biomanufacturing Excellence Act, I recognize firsthand how companies like Frontier are strengthening our supply chain and creating new opportunities in our region.
I’m working in Congress to advance policies that put patients first, strengthen competition, and bring greater transparency to the healthcare system. I’m also focused on cracking down on fraud and abuse that drive up costs for patients and taxpayers. These efforts are about making sure families in Southeastern North Carolina can access the care they need without unnecessary costs standing in the way.

I am pleased to announce Wilmington International Airport (ILM) has been awarded a grant from the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Airport Improvement Program (AIP) to expand its aircraft apron, which will improve aircraft parking and maneuvering, and position the airport to accommodate continued passenger and airline growth.
Southeastern North Carolina relies on ILM to connect our communities and support our growing economy. This investment will help the airport accommodate continued growth, improve operations, and better serve passengers for years to come. As your Congressman, I'll keep working to enhance ILM’s advancement as well as our other infrastructure needs throughout the region.

A renowned landmark of our community is celebrating 65 years in the Port City!
The USS North Carolina first arrived in Wilmington in 1961. The famed World War II battleship saw action in every major engagement in the South Pacific. After service, it was destined for a scrapyard, when more than 700,000 North Carolina schoolchildren raised funds to preserve "Showboat" in the late 1950s. Following the successful fundraiser, the ship was towed to the Port of Wilmington where it serves as a museum and memorial to more than 11,000 North Carolinians who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces during World War II.
My office was proud to recognize this special occasion with a certificate in honor of its 65th Anniversary, or “Berth-day,” in Wilmington. We are very grateful to the brave men who served aboard this historic battleship as well as to everyone who has worked to preserve it for future generations so all can learn from and remember our history.

Congratulations to the Fayetteville Woodpeckers on winning the Carolina League Championship for the first time in franchise history!
The Woodpeckers defeated the Charleston RiverDogs in a playoff sweep to claim the championship. This hard-fought victory brings Fayetteville its first minor league championship in 70 years going back to when the 1956 Fayetteville Highlanders won the eight-team Class B Carolina League.
