Rouzer Now Accepting Submissions for 2024 Congressional Art Competition

WASHINGTON, DC - Congressman David Rouzer (NC-07) is now accepting submissions for the 2024 Congressional Art Competition.  All high school students who reside within the Seventh Congressional District are encouraged to participate.  The winning artist's work will be showcased for one year in the halls of the U.S. Capitol along with other winning entries from every Congressional District across the country.

"The Congressional Art Competition is a true showcase of the outstanding young artists in North Carolina and across the country," said Congressman Rouzer.  "Every year, I am impressed by the talented students from across our region who participate.  I'm proud to once again host this year's competition to provide one of our impressive artists from the Seventh District the opportunity to have their artwork on display in the U.S. Capitol building for thousands to see."

Each spring since 1982, a nationwide high school art competition is sponsored by Members of the U.S. House of Representatives. The Congressional Art Competition is an opportunity to recognize and encourage artistic talent across the country, as well as in our Congressional District.  The Congressional Art Competition is open to all high school students (9-12th grade) who reside in North Carolina's Seventh District.

The winning artist’s work will be displayed for one year in the Cannon Tunnel, a pedestrian walkway leading to the U.S. Capitol.  In addition, the first-place winner will receive airfare for two to Washington, DC where they can view their artwork, connect with other winners from across the country, and participate in a celebratory reception honoring their achievement.

Guidelines and regulations to participate in the competition as well as the student release form can be found here.  Use this tool to determine if students reside within North Carolina's 7th Congressional District.

All artwork and signed student release forms must be submitted in person to one of Congressman Rouzer's District Office locations no later than 5:00 PM on Friday, April 19, 2024.
